These positions report directly to a company Director and provides an excellent opportunity for talented professionals to grow a team undertaking a variety of land-use and development projects.

These roles require senior professionals to undertake and manage projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include managing multiple projects, work priorities and workloads to deliver projects on time and budget while supervising other staff, liaising with clients and assisting in business growth.

The key attributes of the candidates applying for this role include:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience within a consulting environment.
  • A desire to continue to develop a rewarding career in the traffic and transport industry.
  • Experience in a variety of project areas, with particular expertise in the traffic planning and impact assessment for land-use and development projects.

This role is suited to an experienced traffic engineer with an ambition to lead and grow an already successful team involved in the development and design for various types of transport projects, including public transport, bicycle, pedestrian and road safety projects.

The role requires an experienced traffic engineer to undertake and manage projects from inception to completion. Tasks will include scoping jobs, preparing fee proposals, preparation of high quality technically accurate reports, assigning, directing, coordinating and supervising work of other professional and technical staff and liaising with clients.

The key attributes of the Senior Traffic Engineer should include:

  • Have at least 5 years experience in a variety of project areas, with particular expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Development, design and analysis of all types of traffic and transport projects.
  • Traffic simulation and/or modelling packages including SIDRA, VISSIM and TRIPS/CUBE.
  • Road safety and accessibility audits.
  • Development and implementation of traffic management plans.
  • Operation, analysis and design of traffic signals and SCATS.
  • Complex transport surveys and analysis of transport data.
  • Civil design and Construction.
  • An ability to lead and grow a team of junior engineers and associated technical staff.
  • Well developed network of existing or potential clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

Traffix Group is seeking an experienced Traffic Designer/Drafter to join its design team (Traffix Design) located within its modern professional offices in Glen Iris. We are one of Melbourne’s largest specialist traffic engineering and transport planning consultancies with a proven track record of providing high quality innovative solutions to our government and private sector clients.

This permanent role requires strong technical skills in the traffic engineering design field in addition to strong communication skills. You will have a “hands-on” role in undertaking a broad range of traffic engineering and transport planning design projects undertaken across the company for government and private sector clients including:

  • Traffic Signal Plans,
  • Functional Intersection Design,
  • Public Transport Improvements,
  • Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities,
  • Road Safety Improvements,
  • Carpark Layouts,
  • Local Area Traffic Management Devices, and
  • AutoTurn Swept Path Design.
